The role
You clean barbecues at customers' homes, start to finish: take the grill apart, degrease every part, put it back together, light every burner and leave the space clean. You're paid for every appliance you finish, and you can earn extra for clean work, for staying the whole season and for bringing in new customers. No experience needed: we train you, paid, until you're signed off to work on your own. You report to your market's Lead Technician.
What you'll do
- Enter your availability in the tech app each week and take the jobs dispatched within it.
- Drive to customers' homes in your market.
- Photograph each appliance before you start, including any damage or rust that's already there.
- Clean to our Service Standard: grates, heat shields, firebox, grease tray and catch pan free of carbon and grease, burner ports clear, everything put back together, and each burner lit and checked.
- Upload your after photos and mark the job complete in the app.
- Take payment at the door through our app, by card or e-transfer.
- Offer extra cleaning at the app's price, only after the customer approves it through Aspect's link or the office.
- Leave door-hangers with your own code around the neighbourhood if you want to. You earn commission on new customers who book with it (see Pay).
- Send any customer problem to the office, and tell us within 1 business day.
- Follow our safety procedures and report hazards. You can always refuse unsafe work.
What we look for
- Care with detail. The difference between a clean and a deep clean is the parts nobody checks.
- Good with people. You're on someone's property. Be polite and clear, and they book again.
- Reliable. You turn up when you said you would and finish what you start.
- Comfortable on your own. Once you're signed off, most jobs are just you, outdoors, with the customer's grill.
- Keen to learn. Every grill is a bit different. Some are very different.
Requirements
- A valid Ontario G or G2 licence, and a driver's abstract our insurer accepts
- A reliable vehicle, with insurance that covers driving for work
- A smartphone that can run our apps
- Legally entitled to work in Canada for the whole term

Pay
Paid per appliance, earned on completion, whether or not the customer has paid. The Muskoka rate follows the job's address, not where you live.
| Appliance | Mainland | Muskoka |
| 2-burner | $38 | $50 |
| 3-burner · smoker, kamado or egg · pellet | $53 | $65 |
| 4-burner | $58 | $70 |
| 5-burner · built-in | $68 | $80 |
| 6-burner | $78 | $90 |
| 7-burner · small luxury | $83 | $95 |
| Medium luxury | $88 | $100 |

Appliances not on the list are paid by your agreement's formula, never less than $15.00.
On top of your piece rate
- Season Completion Bonus: $5 per appliance ($8 Muskoka).
- Earned if you're employed on August 22, 2027 (Muskoka: August 29).
- If Aspect ends your employment earlier, other than for wilful misconduct, it's paid on every appliance to your last day plus any ESA notice period.
- If you resign earlier, it isn't earned.
- Clean-Job Bonus: $2 per appliance.
- Earned 14 days after the job if there's no valid customer claim.
- With both bonuses: up to $45 per mainland 2-burner ($60 Muskoka). Both bonuses are conditional, as set out above.
- Your own redo after a valid claim pays no piece rate, but its time counts toward minimum wage.
- Sales commission: 10% of each new customer's first job booked with your personal code, and of customer-approved add-ons, once completed and paid.
- Tech of the Week: $50, one company-wide winner weekly, on a formula fixed for the season (clean jobs, appliances, sales, customer survey, weighted 30/30/20/20; 5+ jobs; online reviews never count).
Always
- At least $17.95 an hour for every hour ($19.70 for hours worked at home), counting only piece-rate and training pay, with every bonus, commission and award paid on top.
- $20 an hour paid training until you're signed off to work solo.
- Overtime after 44 hours a week.
- 4% vacation pay on all pay.
- Tips are 100% yours.
- Jobs are dispatched within your availability; none are guaranteed.
- Own vehicle; no separate gas or mileage pay.
- Muskoka: free accommodation under the Housing Schedule (a taxable benefit unless you keep your own self-contained home elsewhere and don't rent it out).
Moving up to Senior
You become a Senior Technician automatically with 120+ Aspect jobs or a prior full Aspect season, 2 or fewer valid claims per 100 jobs, and luxury and built-in certification. Over your last 100 completed jobs whose claim window has closed: 0–2 with a valid claim, Senior rate (up to $48.20 per mainland 2-burner, $63.20 Muskoka, with both bonuses, which are conditional as set out above); 3–4, half the senior premium; 5+, Junior rate. It moves back up as your record improves. No promise of premium jobs.
